The Symptoms of a Heart
Attack
If you are having a heart
attack, their are a variety of symptoms that you may be experiencing.
If you even think that you may be having a heart attack, the first thing
that you should do is get off the computer and dial 911, or whatever
number you call for emergency services in your area. It is vital that
you get the care that you need within the first hour after suffering
the symptoms of a heart attack.
Some of the symptoms that
you may be experiencing would include shortness of breath, pain in the
chest, shoulders, neck or arms, feeling light headed, sweating, nausea
or a feeling of impending doom. These are not all of the symptoms but
these are the symptoms that are felt most often. If you have any of
these symptoms, it is possible that you could be suffering a heart attack
and you should immediately call for help.
The most obvious symptom
of a heart attack is chest pain. However, many heart attack sufferers
do not feel chest pain. Or at least, they do not describe it as chest
pain. Instead, they may complain of an uncomfortable 'pressure' or '
'squeezing' in the center of the chest. With a heart attack, this pressure
or squeezing would last for more than a few minutes and would not change
when they move around or try to stretch out.
Pain can be located in the
chest, upper abdomen, neck, jaw, or inside the arms or shoulders. As
yo can see, heart attack symptoms are different for different people.
After you get to the hospital, they will need to run a series of tests
in order to determine if you have had a heart attack. Many people are
relieved to find out that they were only suffering from some type of
gastronomic situation. However, it can pay serious rewards to error
on the side of caution when it comes to your heart.
